You could call me a "kid neat freak". I'm not so much a neat freak around the house but my child is never sticky or dirty...yet :) I know I have to let him play in the dirt, but I just can't stand dirty kids. Yuk!
So letting Logan feed himself liquid type foods ie: yogurt, applesauce, oatmeal, soup etc. has been at the top of my to-do list. NOT! Liquid+Rugrats= sticky, yucky, nasty mess on him, his highchair and my house. No thank you.
But I figured it was about time to let him have at it.
"Mom, are you really taking my picture? I just woke up". {Can you see him glaring at me? I think I taught him that. Crap.}

"OK, I guess you can"
He's eating cooked Grape Nuts and applesauce. High in fiber.
He actually does a really good job. He fed himself with a spoon last night at dinner with applesauce. Rob let him know that lifting the bowl was a no-no. So far he hasn't been any trouble. I hope we can keep this up. He doesn't really like me to spoon feed him anymore. I suppose for good reason, he is a toddler now and very independent.

Grape Nuts: No grapes, no nuts. What's the deal?
;-D
Yes, it's a hard stage when you have to allow them to feed themselves.
Yeah, I'm totally the same way! I guess I'd just have to leave the room and let Landon figure it out cause I can't stand the mess either. I still haven't really let him try it on his own without me supervising (assisting I guess is the better word). I've got to buck up and do it though, or else I'm going to be spoon feeding him when he's 16 ;)
