Mommies Poor Baby
Poor Logan has another cold. We just can't seem to get away from them. This is #4 I think. I pray that it doesn't become a regular thing. I hope his immune system kicks it up a notch. We have a really good nose sucker that Logan HATES! I know that "hate" is a strong word but if Logan could talk he would use it for sure. I just wish he could blow his nose so that Rob & I wouldn't have to make him cry so hard. It is so sad. In the past when he had a cold we would show him the sucker before we would stick it up his nose in hopes that he would be "prepared" for us sucking his brains out. It didn't work then, but now he sure knows it's coming. As soon as we show it to him he starts to freak out and shake his head back and forth, screams and kicks his legs and arms. We practically have to lay on him. I hate colds! Rob was the one who brought it home, so I will blame him. So far I haven't gotten it. And mark my words "I will NOT be getting this cold".Logan is in pretty good spirits given the circumstances. He's probably pretty used to having a cold. I feel like such a bad mom! We elevated his bed, again. It helps a lot with his congestion.
Logan went through 7 bibs yesterday! And that doesn't count the 3 times he was in his highchair eating. He would have gone through 3 or 4 more if he hadn't taken his naps. With his congestion the drool runs out of his mouth like a water fountain. It usually does anyway but it's worse with a cold. I feel so bad for him. I wish I could take it all away. I love him so much, he is such a trooper through every thing I put him through. Dressing him up in pumpkin clothes and putting hats on him, which he hates with a passion. I just love my little boy with all my heart.Guess What?
"Guess what I ate?"If you guessed blueberries you're right! Logan absolutely, without a shadow of a doubt, loves blueberries. He devours them. I made him some "healthy" blueberry pancakes with whole wheat flour, wheat germ and some other healthy stuff that I just can't seem to remember at this moment (what's new). I cut them up into small bite size pieces and put about ten of those pieces on his tray and he picked up almost the hole pile and pounded them down the hatch! He can eat one hole pancake. Not that that surprises me, but he hasn't been doing so good with the finger foods lately. But blueberry pancakes are a keeper!
The reason I don't like to feed blueberries to Logan is (a) they stain his teeth, lips, tongue and any other piece of skin that comes in contact with it (b) his poop is black and has teeny tiny seeds in it that are nearly impossible to wipe off. But they are so good for him and he loves them so much. I am learning to pick my battles as a mommy and this is one of them.
The Many faces of Logan part II
The original post was incorrect. You ask why? Well because I still, after 9 1/2 months, have "Mommy Brain" and I forgot what it was that I fed him that day. Don't laugh, ok Mommies can laugh but you guys out there pipe down. You have NO idea what a pain in the neck it is. Having to write down every thought because my memory only helps me, oh wait it never helps me!
So the real post was supposed to be about egg yokes. That's the funny/grossed out face he is making. But in all fairness I did try feeding him cut up squash and he was not excited at all. But he will eat it it I feed it to him. Yes my child was born with lazy bones. He doesn't want to crawl, walk, talk and whatever 9 month old babies are "supposed" to do. He's so funny.
So anyway, take a peek at the old post to get the REAL story since you clearly can't rely on me to give you the correct one the first time.

Logan is our Little Pumpkin
So I had this super cute idea to gut the inside of a pumpkin and put Logan, naked to his daiper, inside like an Anne Gedes picture. So Rob did the gutting and then had an even more creative idea to etch his name in it and carve leg holes. So here is our little pumpkin, let us know what you think...Who's the Homeless Guy?

Oh, it's Garrett. Silly me I couldn't tell under all that trash. He is our garbage man when he comes over every other weekend. He gets paid 25 cents a trip for taking the recycling and a little bit of garbage out. But this time Julie, Rob and Root were cleaning off the patio because the Condo's are being remodeled so everything, I mean everything, including the BBQ had to be off the patio.
What a pain in the a@#!

picture #3I'm sure you can see by now what it is Garrett has found. Yes you are right if you guessed underwear! Why underwear in the freezer you say? Well as my husband would say "revenge is best served cold". So frozen underwear is Garrett's revenge. Oh don't worry he deserved it. We all went out to dinner for Julie's Birthday a couple of weeks ago and when I was putting Logan in his car seat Garrett decided that it would be freakin hilarious to honk the horn at his sister, well I am happy to say that Garrett's revenge got served....very, very cold!!! I frozen all of his clean underwear in to one brick of ice.

Logan 1st Trip to the Pumpkin Patch-Part II
Homemade Goodness
I made Logan some teething biscuits this weekend. I tried 2 different recipes but the first one was like a roll. I was thinking what part of "teething" makes someone think that a soft roll would be at all helpful? It's supposed to be really hard. Well the second ones I made were just that. My brother was over this weekend (he's 10) he asked to try one, of course I said "you are not going to like it" because they are pretty bland. But he wanted one anyway. He tried to bite down on it, but that didn't really work out for him. They are seriously hard as a rock, but with a little slobber, which Logan was blessed with an abundance of, they loosen right up. So far I have given him 3 and every time I get a little better at the finger sweep. Poor Logan doesn't like momma's finger in his throat. But it's better than the alternative! He actually does really good with them but they are a solid food so I do have to keep a close eye on him. Not like I don't anyway.Monday, October 13, 2008
First trip to the Pumpkin Patch
We went with the Bolopue's to the ArlingtonPumpkin Patch on Sunday. It was pretty fun even though we didn't get our pumpkins then. We'll get ours later.
I think Logan could be starving and poopy at the same time but still LOVE being in the Baby Bjorn. They are so cute!Logan's first soccer game
We went up to Kris & Bekki's this weekend and had a great time. Saturday was Jake's (their 5 year old) last soccer game, so of course we went to show our support. It was pretty chilly that morning so we bundled up and headed out. The pic about is Logan and Tommy (their 2.5 year old). Tommy thought that was pretty cool that he got to sit next to Logan in the car.The many faces of Logan
Logan is totally trilled in this picture, can't you tell? Logan's Doc told me to try more finger foods with him so he can get better at chewing. She said to try whatever I'm already feeding him just in solid form not pureed (not everything but somethings to get him more interested). She also said to try egg yokes. Yuk! I am NOT a fan of JUST the yoke. I HAVE to have the white with it. But Logan isn't supposed to have the whites yet. So I tried to feed him hard boiled egg yokes and this is what I got in return...
"Mom, I think there is something wrong with that, how about it tastes nasty! Please I'm begging you don't make me eat another bite, I'm clearly terrified!". "Oh come on Logan just try another bite" "Mom, I'm warning you if you do I'll...
Whatever! Then I gave him dehydrated strawberries and bananas and some juice and he was all silly faces...

What are you laughing at guys?
Logan loves cheerios! So usually I will give him a handful while I am cooking dinner to keep him occupied. I looked over after a minute or two and found a happy baby baby making faces with a cheerio stuck to him forehead.
This is his new special face. He started it when he came down with a cold a month ago. He was doing it because his nose was so stuffed up. But the face has turned in to a keeper, probably because Rob & I laugh so much at him when he does it. I love that kid! He has stated to make fish kiss noises, sometimes he can make the face with the noise but usually it's just the noise.Thursday, October 2, 2008
9 month check-up
So usually I don't make a post without pictures but I wanted everyone to know how big Logan is. He had his check up yesterday and weighed in at 22lb 3oz (75%) 27 3/4 in (25-50% we know where he gets that) and his head was 46cm (75%). What a big boy! We officially have to get a new car seat. That sucks! Oh well.

9 months old
Logan is such a blessing in our life! I know I say this every month, but I can't believe how old he is. He is 3/4 of a year! WOW!
Trying to get a poseing picture is like pulling teeth!
He tried to eat everything! Finally I stopped trying to get a "perfect" pic because I was worried he would beak one of Julie's new decorations. Silly Logan Berry.
And ghost's are too!He is sitting up on his own really well. He still loves food. He thinks everything within his reach goes in his mouth first. He loves playing with his friend Jack. He takes 2 really good naps everyday, well almost. He has 2 teeth. He is officially in 12 month clothes. He is in size 4 diapers, I know a couple of 2 1/2 year olds that are in size 4 also. That's crazy! He loves to tickle fight with daddy. He is almost out of his infant car seat. (We are going to his 9 month check-up in an hour so I will find out if we are buying a carseat this weekend or not.) He loves books. He loves to be sung to. He loves Sesame Street (but doesn't really get to watch it enough to count as watching tv). He has turned into a momma's boy. It's pretty sweet but kind of annouing at the same time. He loves to cuddle, when he's tired. He refuses to crawl. We keep trying to get him up on all fours, but as we are trying we realize the faster he's on all fours the harder my job gets. So if he wants to be lazy, fine by me! I'm sure there are many more things about my boy that I'm missing but he's whining with arms out, I think that's his way of saying "Mommy".
I hope all our readers, Family & Friends have a wonderful Halloween! Be safe and eat lots of candy! I'm sure I will post before then but just in case. Oh that reminds me I still have to figure out what we are dressing up as. I know we have a couple of parties to go to. Any ideas for a Dad, Mom and Baby?
