A Day Worth Celebrating

Logan's birthday is worth celebrating. Not just because he's 2, but because he managed to survive on earth for 17,520 hours. If you live in our house, that's a dang miracle!

So in celebration of his steadfastness in our family here are some memories captured:

Auntie Bekki made delicious cupcakes w/pudding filling, yum! If was nearly impossible to keep all the sticky fingers off the table. We didn't have a theme this year {since I thought maybe he wouldn't make it to his 2nd b-day ha-ha!}. So his cake had a little of all his favorite things: Santa {still #1 a month after Christmas}, Elmo, Cookie Monster, Cookies, Balls, Cars. Then she added polka dots in primary colors made out of fruit roll-ups {she's so dang clever}.

Say cheese, but don't hurt yourself. Sheesh.

Logan and Uncle Root enjoying their heavenly cupcakes.

In the back decapitated by the camera is Grandma Schmalle, then Grandpa Schmalle, Auntie Laura and Auntie Sarah.

Auntie Bekki, Uncle Kris and Jake. They clearly don't want to have their picture taken.

Mike Wood and Uncle Aaron.

The best part of being an apartment manager is having space to through a party! We used the bedroom for a playroom-brilliant!

Kris: "Hey Aaron, I'll give ya a dollar if you stuff that whole cupcake in your mouth."
Aaron, needing the money to get back to Rexburg: "Not for just a dollar."
Kris: "Ok, I'll give you all the money in my wallet."
Aaron: "Now we're talkin, it's a deal."

Now that was fun. Huh, Aaron? Was it worth it?! {I would've done it for the dollar, the cupcakes are just THAT good.}

Logan being patient with Grandpa Arvin trying to take his picture with his cell phone.

Logan: "I. MUST. DESTROY. MY. FOOD."

"Don't look at me like that, I'm the boss here Mister."

The Woods, clearly avoiding the camera.

The Crossley's. We are currently at their house.

Uncle Tim.

Opening presents, Aubree really {really} wanted to open all the presents by herself. Darn it, it's not her birthday yet.
Our proud Daddy.

Look at all the loot. Yeah, just after Christmas...fun.

Happy {belated on the blog} Birthday Bean-Bean! Daddy and I love you with all our heart. You make life so very interesting and we have the most fun with you, son. We are so proud of your accomplishments this year: Walking, running {this one I'm not so happy about when we are out and about}, talking, singing, drinking from a big boy cup, climbing the stairs, going to primary like a champ and of course growing like a weed {I'm not sure how that one happened, he usually only eats breakfast}. Logan we Love you so much and we are so blessed to have you in our family. Here's to another year! Hopefully you'll have a brother or sister by then :)

A few new things

Kissing girls {or his cousin, Aubrey ;)}Having to share toys with said girl. {You can tell he is very distraught about the situation.}

Playing with a doll house, and loving it!

Yep, that's right mom's high heels.

He fell right over as soon as he took a step.

Enjoying our first batch of homemade play dough.

In Keri's SUV watching a movie! He thought that was the cats meow!

"Mom, what the heck? It's a movie...in the car...and we're moving." Wrap your 2 year old brain around that one.

"Who cares how she's doin' it, this is awesome!"
{mind you, he threw a temper tantrum the next 3 or 4 times we were in the car after that. lovely.}

New baby Benson. He sure makes the perfect very first nephew for Rob & I. Oh, and Logan's first cousin. {in this picture he doesn't look too thrilled}

He quickly warmed up as soon as we told him he could actually kiss him! He loves to give kisses.

Isn't my sweet nephew so cute?

Logan helping mommy make caramel bars for the first time. He was a pro at unwrapping the caramels too!

It was very tempting to eat one, but according to Grandma Schmalle's recipe you must have 50 caramels and that's exactly how many we had. Sorry no tasting.
A lot of new things this month. But there is still more to come.

A Manly Cooked Meal

A
How could a girl resist a meal made by her 2 favorite men? We can't seem to keep Logan away from the kitchen when we're in it. He absolutely, with out a doubt loves to help us cook.
Logan & Rob took a long enough break to show me their pearly whites.

Some how {maybe bribery} Logan decided to wash the dishes for me too!
I love his little rolls on his legs and how he stands on his tippy toes...priceless!

What do you do at Ixtapa when you're really bored?

Duh!

Working very hard at his masterpiece.

We were celebrating my cousin Lucas's Birthday, which we never did get a picture of.

Hear is a Sneak Peak...

of our Christmas pictures.
Logan did such a good job sitting on Santa's lap. We started talking about Santa this morning in preparation for the big event. I didn't want to be one those parents that has a screaming child in the photo. However, I knew I very well could be. We got out of the car and Rob started in on the chanting: Santa-Santa-Santa! Logan caught on pretty quick and chimed in as well. We were in line waiting at 11:45am and finally sat on Santa's lap at 1:40pm. That's right 2 hours. {insert sarcasm here} And Logan was a complete angel the whole time. Thank goodness I didn't attempt to try this on my own, I would have failed miserably. By the time we were to the front of the line Santa decided he needed a potty break! ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?! HAVE YOU SEEN MY CHILD'S BEHAVIOR FOR THE PAST 2 HOURS?! Luckily {for him} he came back a few {long} minutes later. Logan was so excited he ran right up to him and stopped about 2 feet from his lap. After a little sweet-talking he was on Santa's lap and was saying "cheese" for the camera. Phew! Hopefully year number 3 will be a success too!

Saturday night Rob and I were able to get out of the house {thanks to Julie and Garrett for babysitting!} for Rob's work Christmas party. We had a wonderful time. Good food, good company and lots of laughter! We left just after the gift exchange because I thought my head was going to explode {due to the cold that doesn't allow instant gratification from OTC medicine}!
Julie so graciously took our picture before we left.

I think we're pretty cute, especially the one in the middle :)

Merry Christmas Everyone!
