Rob has this flashing red light that he uses when he rides his bike. Logan of course, loves it. He tried to hook it on his shirt but it fell into his shirt and landed...
I was laughing so hard that it was hard to take the pictures. By the end Logan wasn't so thrilled and wanted it out!
I was cleaning the bathrooms the other day and Logan decided he wanted to "help" me. Sweet, right? Not when he wants to clean the toilet :) I couldn't bypass this opportunity to encourage this behavior. I gave him a paper towel and this is what I found:
He was so proud of himself.
Then Auntie Laura came over. He proceeded to throw a temper tantrum (normal occurrence). But this time he was so embarrassed {and tired} that he laid on the floor and fell asleep. This is the first he has ever fallen asleep on the floor. He usually has to be in his bed.
That's the number of pounds I've lost since my last weight loss post!
All I've done really is cut back the amount of food I'm eating at any given moment. Smaller portions, no seconds, less unhealthy snacking and drinking lots of water. I still need to get myself to the gym, though.
There's always something to work on :) But knowing I've lost 5lbs really keeps me motivated.
So today I finally ordered a parenting book: The Happiest Toddler on the Block, by Harvey Karp. Thanks for the advise Karissa, I hope :) I guess we'll find out if it works for us, as a family soon.
I sure hope this book covers hitting, because Logan seems to be a pro at it lately. It makes me so mad and I just want to sock him back! But I don't. But I really wish I could. That's just how I feel.

Logan CAN say them all! A-mazing! I thought he would never talk. He doesn't use his words consistently, but he can say them and has said them more than a few times. It awesome to see the little wheels turning in his head.
This afternoon before naptime, we were picking up all the toys. He had a ton of kitchen spoons, etc all over the floor. I told him to pick up a spoon and a tupperwear container. Then before he could walk away I asked him to take 2 more spoon with him. He stopped, looked at me, took inventory of what he had, then put everything down and was able to pick up all the object I asked him to put away. He used to make more than one trip for those 4 items. He totally figured it out all by himself! I was so proud of him, and told him how proud I was of him.
We have a lot of frustrating days around here. So when we are actually working together it makes it all worth it.
Does anyone have a parenting book they would recommend for 18 months and older? He's getting to be quiet the handful and I could use some help. I hate being so mad/irritated AT him. I know he doesn't understand much yet, but I don't want him to get "the crazy mom" every time he does something naughty. If I had some parenting tools in my belt when I need them I think life could be a little more enjoyable for our family :)
