Ho, Ho, Ho Santa Clause!

We got Logan's picture taken with Santa last Friday. We had been preparing ourselves for the worst. Because he started his separation anxiety about 5 months ago and will occasionally cry with strangers or even family. So we fully expected him to scream bloody murder at poor Santa. He is quite the victim. So many crying and kicking brats out there. Much to our dismay, he was an Angel. Santa had Logan stand on his lap so he couldn't turn around and see him before the pictures were taken. But as soon as they were done Santa had me come up and be right there when he turned Logan around. He just looked at him and studied his face for a long time. And of course ran his fingers through Santa's beard. It was really cute and we are so proud of Logan for being such a big boy!We actually took a picture of his picture (that's why it looks so bad) because we don't have a scanner and I was too cheap to buy the big package with the CD.

Yum-yum, yogurt

My child lives for yogurt. This picture doesn't look like he's enjoying himself, but really he does. He doesn't usually have a perfect mustache with his food, so when I saw this I just had to share. He's so darn cute!Oh, there's my boy! I think he's always smiling.
Can you see his big boy toofers?!
He is currently working on 4 more. But still smiling! All 4 are on top. He has been really sensitive about putting things in his mouth. He used to let me put my finger in to check, but not anymore he freaks out. You can just tell it's painful. Poor little love bug.

Practice Christmas Pictures

I was trying to get a really good picture of Logan in front of the Christmas tree. I wanted it to be all lit up. However, when my flash is on the tree looks off. But when the flash is off you can't see Logan. I am going to make Rob figure it out. But these are a few of the "practice round"..."Am I in trouble Mom?"
"Wow, this is very boring"
"Ok, now your talkin my language"
"Shh, I think I found the jackpot! I don't think she can see me, I'll just slip my hand in and she won't even know!"

He was very good the hole time. I think I took 20 or more pictures. I'm just not hip enough with technology. Or our camera sucks. It better not, it was expensive!

Ugly Christmas Sweater Party

The front of Rob's sweater.
Rob's boss had a Christmas Party for all his employees. But, there was a catch.. you could not go in the house without an ugly Christmas sweater(there would also be a contest with a $ prize!). I was pretty appalled when Rob first told me about it, but then I got to thinking and decided if I was going to wear an ugly sweater and there was a contest then we HAD to win. That's just the way that I roll! We went to Value Village and bought Rob a red sweater vest and myself a red and white striped sweater. I decorated everything else by hand. I used felt and wreath accessories and a lot of hot glue. It took me about 4 hours total to do both.
Scroll down, look at the pictures and tell me if you think we won!

Up close of Rob's.
Baby snowmen on Rob's shoulders. So sweet!
A "Him" snowmen with spiky hair, just like Rob!
A "Her" snow women with curly hair, not like mine.
I had Angels on my shoulders.
An up close front shot of my sweater.
And another just to make sure you get the full affect.
Rob's co-workers.
And here we are in all "our ugly sweater glory"
Really, I just know you wanted the butt shot!
More co-workers. this one is with the flash on...
This one is with the flash off. they had battery lights. I was totally going to do that but they would have pushed me over the budget.
And more co-workers.

There were a lot more employees there, I just forgot to take more pictures.
We had a blast that night. The food was great, the people were great, the sweaters were freakin' awesome and hte present exchange game was really fun!

Have you decided who won?

Of course we did. It was pretty much hands down!
As Rob would say:
"That's the was I roll baba, that's the way I roll!"

Bye-bye Daddy :(

Rob had to go on a business trip this week. He flew out this morning. His flight was supposed to leave at 6:10am so I dropped him off at 4:45am (yikes, I haven't seen that side of the morning since Logan was nursing in the night). I got a text message from him at 8:02am that said he had just gotten on the plane. What the heck? You mean I got out of bed for no reason. Argh! He first had to fly to Houston TX, then he was supposed to have a layover for 2 1/2 hours until he caught his flight to Jacksonville FL. He ended up missing his connecting flight which made him miss orientation. Poor Daddy :( But he just called and said he is there safe and sound.

Thanksgiving Dinner- a week later

On Thanksgiving morning I made a quiche for my family. Boy do I make a good quiche. Yum-Yum!
Then we all watched the parade. Later in the afternoon we all went over to my Nana's house and she made us Thanksgiving Dinner. I was so full I couldn't even eat dessert. The day before Turkey day I went out and bought a turkey for just us to have. Ya know when ever you go over to someone else's house you never get enough turkey. So I decided to make my very 1st turkey ever! Boy was I nervous. But with Julie's help I did it. She made a brine to soak it in all night. So the next day I was all by myself to prepare everything else along with the turkey. I cooked it for 30 min at 500 degrees. Then put the thermometer in and cooked it for about 2-2.5 hours at 350 degrees. I basted every 15 min.
Are you wondering if it tasted as good as it looks, HECK YA!
It had the best flavor and it was the most juicy turkey I have ever eaten. Even Julie and Rob said it was the best they had ever eaten and they have a lot more turkey eaten years under their belts then I do.
I made all the traditional sides: real mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, sausage stuffing, gravy(Julie made it because I am not confident in my gravy making skills, it always tasted like flour), rolls and cranberry sauce.
Every piece of meat had juice dripping from it. My mouth is watering just typing this out. I was really proud of myself for not only cooking a Thanksgiving dinner (almost completely by myself) but making everything turn out so freakin' good. However, I did seem to burn the bottoms of the rolls. I put them on a cookie sheet on the bottom of the oven and forgot about them. Oops!
After we stuffed ourselves to death I cleaned the kitchen up. When I took off my gloves I realized there was water on my left hand. That's bad for me because I have eczema really bad on my hands that comes and goes, but water makes it really bad. So I supported my glove on Logan's bottle washer and the next morning I come out to find this...

RUDE! I must have worked him to hard. Well, this story ends with the naughty glove in the garbage. Not just because he gave me the bird but I really did cut a hole in it, while peeling potaoes, so sad.

Stairs! Oh My!

Logan seemed pretty interested in the stairs. So against my better judgment I taught him how to climb them. What's wrong with me you ask? I don't know, this kid makes me crazy I think. I didn't want him to hurt himself so I helped him. He doesn't go up them unless I am there encouraging it. So that's a plus. We will see how long that will last, not long I'm sure.
